As my own academic experience lies between several worlds (literature, art, art history, critical theory, media, and cultural studies), my scholarly activities reflect multiple interests and investments. Primarily, however, I am interested in demonstrating the potential for instigating and furthering social change and evolution through both community and conflict. Although this often takes the form of popular culture analysis, it is also deeply engaged with political economy and the institutional bases for oppressive or reactionary regimes.
